What a great dinner. I think we were outside of the house for a total of 2 hours 50 minutes, but it was great.
We don't get out often. When we do, there's mega guilt. This time, a friend invited us AND our kids. Brave gal.We brought the four older ones and left the babies with my mother-in-law. (Our choice. We decided not to push our luck.)
Ahhhhh. Bliss.
We bribed the kids with our iPhones: three iPhones, three kids. The oldest hung out with my friend's daughter (hopefully in peace). In the meantime, we sat at the dining room table with grown-ups. Yes, grown-ups. We ate dinner. We had a glass (or two) of wine. Pure bliss.
By the time we left, of course, our host looked exhausted. Yep, our family will do that to you. Still, I hope she enjoyed our company as much as we enjoyed hers.
Here's to the possibility of a social life.
